Welcome to the Save The Glen Website

Greylock Glen is a 1,060 acre stretch of public land in Adams, Massachusetts. It rests at the eastern base of Mt. Greylock, southern New England's tallest mountain. The Glen is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, including a number of rare species. The area is a popular spot for hiking, swimming, biking, hunting, birdwatching, and other outdoor activities.

However, the Glen is also the proposed site for a multi-million dollar resort complex, that would feature an 18-hole golf course, a hotel and conference center, an environmental education center, and 300 homes. This proposed resort is the product of a public-private partnership between the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management and Greylock Management Associates, a private development firm based in Boston.

The Save The Glen campaign aims to stop this enormous project on a number of grounds - it's too big, it will destroy the recreational value of the Glen, it's an inappropriate use of taxpayer money, and it will not bring the economic benefits to Adams that the developer has promised.
